ALPHA MANNOSIDASE: The chromogenic glycosidases tests are based upon enzymatic release of yellow-coloured nitrophenol from the substrates. Because the tests detect preformed enzymes non-growing suspensions can be used, and the tests are thus applicable also to microorganisms that do not grow in conventional test media.
