BACITRACIN DISCS 0.04 UNITS, 1 X 50 for the differentiation of Group A Strep (Streptococcus pyogenes), not for antimicrobial sensitivity tests. Discs are used in the presumptive identification of group A, beta-hemolytic streptococci. The test differentiates group A streptococci from other Lancefield groups of hemolytic streptococci by inhibiting the growth of group A streptococci around a disk containing approximately 0.04 units bacitracin. Each cartridge contains 50 disks that are spring loaded for smooth and reliable dispensing from the single metal disk dispenser. Includes 1 cartridge with 50 discs.
